Pennylane Studio Mastering suite.
Why Master?
Mastering is the final step to help take your recordings to their fullest potential, mastering will take advantage of the qualities of your recordings so they stand up to the rigours of varied playback systems.
Can Mastering improve a bad mix?
You should have the best possible mix before you attempt to master, basic errors of balance and clipping are best put right by re mixing although mastering can change the apparent balance of tracks to give a more pleasing result. In short, a good mix = a good master, a poor mix can be improved within limits but not to the level of the “good mix” master.
Which format should I send?
Send the basic stereo mix of your music, not the instrument tracks, for the best results a 24bit/44.1kHz resolution is preferred and make sure there is no clipping on the mix. Do not have processing applied to the stereo mix for increased loudness, normalizing, compression, limiting, as this is best taken care of during the mastering process. Always make a copy of your mix before sending as we can not be responsible for any losses.
